EDC’s 13th annual International Business Scholarships:  opens around november 2013

Export Development Canada, é uma agência que gerencia crédito para exportação no Canadá. Basicamente é uma agência que apoia e desenvolve o comércio de exportação do Canadá, ajudando as empresas canadenses a responder às oportunidades de negócios internacionais. É uma empresa com fins lucrativos próprios, mas que trabalha juntamente com o governo canadense.Normalmente em novembro são oferecidas bolsas de graduação e de continuação de estudos em escolas de negócios, especialmente a cidadãos canadenses e àqueles que possuem status de “residente permanente canadense”.  Ao total serão 30 bolsas oferecidas. Canadian Institutes of Health Research 

A agência de investimentos em saúde do Canadá, oferece semestralmente e anualmente uma diversidade de bolsa e fundos oferecidos a estudantes e profissionais envolvidos nas mais diversas áreas clínica e de pesquisa relacionada a saúde. Antes de inscrever-se em qualquer uma delas, lembre-se de verificar se elas são oferecidas a cidadãos não canadenses!

Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada  

O Conselho de Pesquisa em Ciências Naturais e Engenharia apoia estudantes universitários em seus estudos avançados, promove e apoia a investigação, descoberta e inovação, incentivando as empresas canadenses a participar e investir em projetos de investigação de nível superior. Os pesquisadores associados ao NSERC estão na vanguarda da ciência, com base na longa tradição do Canadá em excelência científica.

Mitacs is currently accepting applications for Mitacs Elevate PDF

Mitacs Elevate PDF is a program that supports recent PhD graduates to work on a joint industry-academia research project for 2 years. Fellows lead the collaboration and spend about half of their time at the university and half at the company. In addition, Mitacs provides the fellows with business skills training so they are well positioned to take on R&D leadership roles at the end of the program.

This program is open to all PhD holders regardless of nationality

Deadlines

  • Deadline for applications:  June 12, 2013
  • Results announced:  August 21, 2013
  • Deadline for acceptance of awards:  September 18, 2013
  • Start dates for fellowships: February 1, 2014

A completed proposal includes

  1. Proposal including university and industry signatures and any supplemental forms as required
  2. Applicant’s CV
  3. Supervising Professor’s CV
  4. Three letters:
  • One letter of support from the industrial partner. If you do not have confirmed financial support from a company at the time of application, you must submit a letter of interest from at least one potential partner.
  • One letter from the proposed academic supervisor.
  • One letter from someone who is familiar with the applicant’s abilities, such as their PhD supervisor or another member of the thesis committee.

    The majority of grants will be targeted towards the following Government of Alberta priority areas:

    • Renewable and clean energy technology
    • Nanotechnology
    • Health
    • Water
    • Information and Communications Technology (ICT)
    • Biosciences, specifically Soil Sciences, Agronomy, Silviculture, Plant Genomics/Plant Biochemistry, Microbiology, Carbohydrate Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Combustion Chemistry and Environmental Science

    However, a number of fellowships may be offered outside of these areas, so we encourage applications from any academic discipline and industrial sector.
